EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Emmy-winning actor Laurence Fishburne just completed his critically acclaimed role in "#FreeRayshawn" and now hosts a new History Channel series, aptly titled History's Greatest Mysteries.
5 Things You Need to Know:
- The new series investigates a range of mysteries surrounding the Titanic, D.B. Cooper, Roswell, and John Wilkes Booth. It will showcase fresh, new evidence and perspectives, including never-before-released documents to the public, personal diaries, and DNA evidence to unearth new facts and information about these infamous and enigmatic chapters in history.
- Fishburne may be best known for his role as Morpheus in the blockbuster Matrix trilogy but was also featured in Boyz n the Hood, The Color Purple, What's Love Got to Do with It, Mystic River, Apocalypse Now, and two of the John Wick films.
- Never one to hold back his thoughts, Fishburne believes that healing the country after this election will take time and everyone's understanding. "Everybody’s version of the story, right — the truth is like your version, and then there’s my version, and then the truth, and it’s a combination of both of those things," he said.
- Besides having an ongoing role playing the grandfather on ABC's Black-ish, Fishburne also serves as executive producer on the hit show, along with Grown-ish and Mix-ish.
- And with several more projects already in the works, the 59-year-old Oscar-nominee says it’s a wonderful time for him right now. "I’m so grateful for everything that I’m able to do and even more grateful for the things that are coming that are more wonderful than I can imagine," said Fishburne.
