Beloved SoCal radio hosts Mark and Brian have been inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame. Mark Thompson and Brian Phelps were the men behind the mics on The Mark & Brian Show, which ran on Los Angeles rock station KLOS from 1987 until 2012.
The show, which aired in the morning time slot, was the soundtrack to the daily commute for generations of SoCal radio listeners. The Mark & Brian Show featured music, sketches, special guests, and an irreverent style of humor that endeared the mulleted Mark and Brian to listeners.
"They were dead center in the culture of radio and helped to make it what it was," said Chuck Moshontz of Spectrum News 1's "News and Views," and an alumnus of the Mark & Brian Show. "I could hardly imagine anyone more deserving of being in the Radio Hall of Fame than Mark and Brian."
The ceremony for the duo's induction, normally held at the Museum of Broadcast and Communications, was held virtually this year. The pair were officially inducted into the HOF by singer Donny Osmond, a frequent guest on their show over the years.
