Reuniting with his longtime collaborator, director Thom Zimny, Bruce Springsteen is releasing his 20th studio album and a new documentary with the E Street Band called.

The new album, Letters to You, sees Springsteen gets a bit reflective about being 70 and now, the only survivor of his first group before forming the E Street Band.

Five Things You Need to Know:

  1. This album marks Springsteen's first new studio album with his regular backing group, the E Street Band, since 2014's High Hopes.
  2. Springsteen assembled the E Street Band at his home studio for five days of recording in November 2019. They finished recording in just over four days.
  3. The session was filmed a couple of days before the pandemic lockdown began. Springsteen said, "I’ve been able to stay busy which has helped, but it’s just been a day at a time like everyone else, I don’t have any great wisdom to how to get though, whatever this is we’ve been going through."
  4. Springsteen was impressed by the speed and expertise of his longtime band saying, "We’ve played live together in the studio before but never kept everything, we’ve always gone back in and re-dubbed the vocals."
  5. Thom Zimny has been collaborating with Springsteen for the last two decades and says, "The themes of this record really resonated during the last month for me as a filmmaker and I can’t deny I found peace in making this film during this really chaotic time."
