WESTWOOD, Calif. — As a South LA native and daughter of Mexican immigrants, Cynthia Ramirez takes pride in representing her community at a prestigious university. 

Ramirez is part of the record number of Latino students admitted to the University of California colleges for the fall of 2023.

Of the over 88,000 first-year applicants, 38% of those were Latino.

Ramirez says the statistic proves that Latinos are making their mark on UC college campuses.
