LOS ANGELES — The 28th annual Essentially Ellington High School Jazz Band Competition & Festival brings students together from across the nation May 11 to 13 in New York City.
This year, members of the Agoura High School jazz band will join other high school musicians from across North America in New York City for three days of workshops, jam sessions, rehearsals and performances at the “House of Swing” — Frederick P. Rose Hall, home of Jazz at Lincoln Center.
The ensembles get to prepare for the festival with a clinic taught by a noted jazz professional, including Jazz at Lincoln Center drummer Jerome Jennings, who visited Agoura High School.
