LONG BEACH, Calif. — A U.S. District Court judge has struck down TSA's mask mandate saying the CDC exceeded its authority.
In the 59-page ruling, the word "sanitation" was examined as it relates to a statute that gives the government authority to issue regulations. The judge says the word in the statute is limited to measures that clean something and wrote, "Wearing a mask, cleans nothing."
The CDC had extended the mask mandate until May 3 to give scientists more time to study the new COVID subvariant.
