LOS ANGELES — Part of the PST: Art and Science Collide art initiative, "Sinks: Places We Call Home" highlights communities impacted by sites contaminated by industrial manufacturing.
The work of Los Angeles-based artists Maru García and Beatriz Jaramillo used data-driven research that reveals the harmful practices of the past and present and their longterm impact on people and the environment.
García partnered with the Natural History Museum to pursue soil testing and lead reduction studies with community scientists in the areas surrounding Vernon.
