LOS ANGELES — Fifty years after their first “Nutcracker” performance, Santa Monica’s Westside School of Ballet keeps the magic and the tradition alive.

The Westside School of Ballet has been training young dancers in Los Angeles since 1967. Many dancers pursue professional careers in ballet companies across the U.S.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Westside’s “Nutcracker” performance.
