ALISO VIEJO, Calif. — Eighteen-year-old Lily Gabora was born with a rare type of inherited eye disorder and also has epilepsy. The self-taught pianist says that singing and writing her own music has been a healing experience.
According to the United Nations, of the 62 million children in the U.S. who are under age 15, almost 10% have a disability.
Gabora has participated in "Beyond Blindness," an organization empowering children with visual impairments and other disabilities, offering intervention services and support, including occupational therapy.
