LAGUNA BEACH, Calif. — The Laguna Art Museum has kicked off its 10th annual Art & Nature Festival, bringing together thousands of participants to foster an appreciation of nature, to raise environmental awareness and discover cross-sections between nature and the arts.

One of the installations includes “The Sea Around Us” by artist Rebeca Mendez. Her piece brings the magnificence of the Pacific Ocean alive, Mendez explains, while also highlighting the dumping of an insecticide banned in 1972 into the ocean. She says she hopes her 360-degree video installation makes people think about the interconnectedness they have with the ocean.
