BURBANK, Calif. — Animal shelters in and around LA County are dealing with a surge in dog euthanasia, driven by overcrowded shelters.

The nonprofit Pawsitive Beginnings works tirelessly to rescue mother dogs and their puppies from these dire conditions.

With 60 dogs under their care, founder Aleks Zak and her team provide critical support, fostering and finding homes for rescued animals.

Despite the challenges, they maintain a 100% adoption rate, offering a second chance to both puppies and their often-overlooked moms.
