Kristen Lago loves being able to call SoCal home. Born and raised in Downey, educated at USC, and most recently a resident of Mid-City, she has a few pro tips and tricks. For example, if you find yourself at Armando’s Lunch Truck, try the Uko burrito (named after former defensive end George Uko).

Kristen comes to Spectrum News 1 with a passion for telling stories about the diverse and rich communities that have shaped her into the person she is today. Her profile on USC football player Jake Olsen goes down as the most meaningful story she’s covered. Jake lost his eyesight at the age of twelve, but despite his struggles, persevered and is now known for leading the Trojans to victory after helping score the game winning point. Jake remains an inspiration to Kristen and the entire SoCal community for his ability to overcome his struggles and excel at his passion.

In her free time, you can find Kristen fully immersed in SoCal sports. She hasn’t missed a USC home game in almost a decade, and she’s always happy to take in a Dodger game at Chavez Ravine.
