Storms washed over Southern California early Thursday morning, leading to road closures and snarled traffic across the region. Numerous SigAlerts were in effect as multiple crashes and traffic incidents brought the morning commute to a standstill. 

  • Traffic was stopped on the US-101 South at Western Avenue with a crash blocking the two left lanes. 
  • A jackknifed big rig on the 405 North between Ventura Boulevard and the 101 blocked the carpool and right lane.
  • Elsewhere, a separate crash was blocking the left three lanes on the 5 North at Burbank Boulevard. 
  • On the 170 South at Sherman Way, a crash was moved to the right shoulder as traffic was backed up to Roscoe Boulevard.
  • Another big rig overturned on the 118 West between De Soto Avenue and Rocky Peak Road, with traffic backed up to Tampa Avenue.
  • A crash blocked two left lanes on the 210 West at Foothill Boulevard, backing up traffic to Lincoln Avenue.
  • A wreck in the center divider on the 15 North at Highway 138 was reported.
  • An injury crash was reported along the right shoulder of the 91 East at 14th Street.
  • Another big rig crash is blocking two right lanes on the 15 North at Magnolia, backing traffic up to Temescal Canyon Road.
  • A crash is blocking the 110 South at Via Marisol with traffic backed up to Bridewell Street.
  • All lanes are shutdown until further notice on Highway 23 South between Mulholland Highway and the Pacific Coast Highway.
  • Crash reported in the left lane of the 22 East at the 5 with traffic backed up to Fairview.
