A native Angeleno, Nic Cha Kim has lived in East L.A., Westlake, and the San Gabriel Valley, but will always consider Downtown L.A. his home base. Believe it or not, Nic is the founder of Gallery Row, a creative district in the heart of Downtown L.A.
A three-time Emmy winning reporter, Nic is the 2018 "Television Journalist of the Year" by the L.A. Press Club. Past accolades also include six Golden Mikes, a National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Award, and two SoCal Journalism Awards. Passionate about covering artist communities, Nic once owned his own digital and video art gallery where he curated more than 50 exhibits featuring artists around the world.
Before Spectrum News 1, Nic reported for SoCal Connected on KCET and worked as a multimedia journalist for Free Speech TV. When Nic’s not on set or in the studio, you can catch him at Blue Bottle Coffee or looking for the best pozole in East Los Angeles.
