This California native is just about as sunny as they come, pun intended. Angela Sun’s passion for the environment, storytelling, and California community has led her to her newest role as Anchor on Spectrum News 1.
Angela’s determination throughout her career has turned her into a trailblazer. To start, this self-proclaimed miles chaser, once traveled to one of the most remote places on Earth, Midway Atoll, to direct and produce her own documentary. The critically acclaimed “Plastic Paradise: The Great Pacific Garbage Patch” takes viewers on a journey through the North Pacific Ocean and beyond. Winning over 13 awards worldwide, the feature documentary examines our society’s relationship to single-use plastic and its detrimental effects on the ecosystem.
Her accolades don’t stop there. Angela was the first Asian-American Female sportscaster on networks such as ESPN, Yahoo Sports! and NBC Sports, to name a few.
Whether Angela is surfing, snowboarding, working out, or practicing yoga, she always makes sure to soak in every moment of the beautiful California weather. On the once in a blue moon rainy days, you can find her binge watching her favorite shows, This is Us, and Silicon Valley, or documentaries.
