COSTA MESA, Calif. — Flowers can be a special way to let someone know you’re thinking about them. But the Flower Cart bouquets are the kind you can’t get anywhere else, handled with extra care by an outstanding group of students.

The students are part of the Newport-Mesa Unified School District’s Seamless Transition Enrichment Program for students working toward a certificate. The students between the ages of 18 and 22 are learning life and vocational skills.

The Flower Cart is run by the students. They buy the blooms from a wholesaler, get mason jar vases ready, create the arrangements and delivering to 30 campuses throughout the district. Every month the Flower Cart delivers 500 bouquets.
