EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Don't let June gloom get you down. Among the uplifting holidays and milestones this month is Father's Day.

Here's a look at some fun and rewarding ways to observe the Sunday holiday across Southern California.

Belly flop contest

There's a good chance you haven't tried one since childhood. But at Wave Cove inside Raging Waters theme park, a competition will be held Sunday for those who think they still "got it" when it comes to belly flops.

Located in Sam Dimas, Raging Waters is known as California's largest water park, with more than 50 rides, slides and attractions. Tickets for Sunday can be purchased here.

Beverly Hills car show

Fast approaching its 30-year anniversary, the 29th annual Rodeo Drive Concours d’Elegance will bring family fun to Beverly Hills on Sunday. This year's Father's Day car show will feature 100 rare and iconic vehicles, along with food and entertainment.

The show will take place between Wilshire Boulevard and Santa Monica Boulevard from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Learn more here.

Dodgers game

The Boys in Blue will face off against the Kansas City Royals, but perhaps more significant is the beach hat giveaway that will be held during the Father's Day game. Tickets can be purchased here.

Four-course brunch

Swing by Castaway in Burbank for its father-friendly brunch, which will run from 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. The hilltop restaurant features "Instagrammable" views of Los Angeles, in addition to the celebrated cuisine. Reservations can be made here.

Mini-golf

If golf is too frustrating, sometimes taking the game down a notch can do the trick. The Point in El Segundo will feature a Father's Day-inspired miniature golf pop-up from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on the grass area.

Outdoor barbecue

The Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach will host a barbecue lunch on the outdoor Veranda dining area with picturesque views of Rainbow Harbor. Families can enjoy the museum while they visit, of couse. Dads will receive a complimentary beer or soft drink. Tickets can be purchased here.

Petersen Automotive Museum

Los Angeles' Miracle Mile car destination will celebrate dads and their families by offering visitors a chance to enjoy "a rare, close-up look" at some of the museum's most magnificent vehicles. Be sure to secure a ticket before you head over.
