RIVERSIDE, Calif. — The city of Riverside's 12th annual Lunar Festival, celebrating the Year of the Dragon and the arrival of the lunar new year in Asian American communities, ends Sunday.

The two-day festival opened Saturday with numerous performances and other cultural presentations in downtown Riverside.

Sunday's festivities began at 11 a.m. along 3527-3573 Mission Ave., kicking off with the Dragon Phoenix Lion and Dragon Dance Team and the Valverde School of Performance.

The festival is also featuring performances by the Filipino Martial Arts School, Tang Arts, Japanese dance performers and others.

Up to 150 food vendors and numerous local artisan marketplaces will also be on hand.

Events take place until 7 p.m. Sunday.
