Save Yourselves is a new indie comedy about escaping the city and turning off your devices to get connected with each other. It follows a Brooklyn couple played by John Reynolds and Sunita Mani. The film is also a sci-fi alien romp with a hidden message.

Five Things You Need to Know:

  1. The movie splits it's time between relationship building, unplugging, and fighting off the fury aliens.
  2. Directors Alex Fischer and Eleanor Wilson said they had to give everyone on the set their personal alien to stop from touching the props.
  3. Co-lead John Reynolds also stars in the series, Search Party and has recurring role on Stranger Things. He says forced to rough it in the wilderness like his character, he would almost survive. "I’m also very competitive and I would say I would last a long time, but it would probably be pretty embarrassing how I lasted, so I don’t think I would want it televised," said Reynolds.
  4. Sunita Mani also co-starred in Netflix's Glow and Mr. Robot. She says she wouldn't do well forced to survive in nature. "I don’t think I would last very long. I feel like I have a strong competitive nature, me against nature, me against someone, I’d really go down kicking and screaming, but I would definitely go down," she said.
  5. Some research has shown that in 2019, 56 percent of all website traffic worldwide was generated through mobile phones. There are 3.5 billion smartphone users in the world today.  There are 14 million jobs directly related to the mobile industry and not surprisingly, 66 percent of smartphone users are addicted to their phones.
