LOS ANGELES (CNS) — A fire scorched about three acres of brush Wednesday near the westbound Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway in the Chatsworth area, but no structures were damaged.

Firefighters were sent to the freeway near Topanga Canyon Boulevard shortly after 11 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

"All visible flames are extinguished and firefighters have handlines completely surrounding the burn area — contained," the LAFD reported shortly after noon. "No structures were damaged and no injuries reported."

Some lanes of the westbound freeway were closed as a precaution during the firefighting effort. Los Angeles County firefighters were sent to assist.
