WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. — All evacuation orders were lifted Thursday night, and one firefighter suffered a minor injury due to the County Fire in Westlake Village.

According to officials, the County Fire is being held at 28 acres and is now 50% contained.

The injured firefighters is being evaluated at a local area hospital. 

 

Repopulation is in progress as residents are being allowed to return to their homes. According to officials, 1,191 contacts were alerted using VCAlert.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The County Fire erupted Thursday afternoon on a day that brought record breaking heat to the region. Near Westlake Village, the National Weather Service reported that Woodland Hills reached 100 degrees for the first time this year.

On average, the first 100-degree day occurs on June 9. The earliest on record occurred on April 3, 1961.
