YORBA LINDA, Calif. — Cal Fire officials Saturday reported that the Silverado wildfire, which blackened 12,466 acres in the Irvine area, is now 100% contained.
The fire started October 26 at 6:52 a.m. off the Foothill Transportation Corridor (241) in the Irvine area. Two firefighters remained in critical condition after suffering second- and third-degree burns in the fire, which was driven by powerful Santa Ana winds.
The fire also destroyed five structures and damaged nine.

The Blue Ridge Fire, which also started on Oct. 26 at about 2:32 p.m. north of the Riverside (91) Freeway in Yorba Linda, was 99% contained Saturday after burning 13,694 acres. Full containment is expected by Tuesday.
The cause of both fires is still being determined.
