LOS ANGELES — According to the South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD) forecast, air quality will be unhealthy for the following individuals tomorrow, Sunday, October 18, in the following areas:

1:36 p.m. Trump reverses decision on CA’s wildfire aid request after Newsom appeals
After initially refusing California Gov. Gavin Newsom's request for a disaster declaration for six major wildfires that collectively burned millions of acres, the Trump administration performed an abrupt about-face Friday and approved the request.

MILO and ECHO help firefighters who are dealing with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, anxiety, and other behavioral health conditions. Both dogs have already provided companionship and emotional support to first responders at the Bobcat Fire.

10:01 a.m. Fire activity for the Bobcat Fire continues to diminish
8:20 a.m. Bobcat fire 92 percent contained
Containment of the Bobcat Fire smoldering in the Angeles National Forest was up to 92% Sunday, as more than 300 firefighters continued to work the 115,796-acre fire that's been burning for over a month.
The fire has destroyed 171 structures, including 87 residences, and damaged 47 structures, including 28 residences. The Nature Center at the Devil's Punchbowl Natural Area was destroyed, according to Los Angeles County parks officials.

- The Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) will be closed between Black Mountain Road (4S01) and Snow Creek Village due to the Snow Fire.

- All closures/prohibitions that were in effect before the full forest closure remain in place, such as Aztec Falls and permits for some wildernesses.
8:50 a.m. More than 13,800 firefighters continue to battle 20 wildfires in the state
Friday, Oct. 9
2:45 p.m. Cleveland National Forest was partially reopened Friday.
2:25 p.m. Much of the Angeles National Forest reopened Friday.
Burn zones will remain closed for public safety.
2:25 p.m. The Bobcat Fire as of Friday is now 90 percent contained.
Firefighters will continue mopping up and building containment lines, according to the Angeles National Forest.

3:15 p.m. Club Fire update
10:16 a.m. Over 16,400 firefighters continue to battle 22 major wildfires statewide
Since the beginning of the year, there have been over 8,300 wildfires that have burned well over 4 million acres in California. To date, the total number of fatalities statewide is 31 and over 8,819 structures have been destroyed.
Temperatures will remain warm today across the state and humidity recover remains slow, continuing the increased fire danger. Seasonal and potentially below average temperatures are expected this weekend, with a chance of some precipitation in the portions of the State. This reprieve in decreased fire weather potential is short-lived, as a warming and drying pattern is expected to return early next week.
