With Thanksgiving just around the corner, many are seeking the perfect holiday experience to do with family and friends this time of year.

The weather around Thanksgiving tends to be warm and dry with some gusty Santa Ana winds at times.

Chilly nights and mornings comfortable afternoons.

For the most part, it's a great time to be outdoors and visit an ice skating rink.

There are multiple skating rinks in SoCal, but here are a few favorites you can visit during the time of giving and being around loved ones.

 #1  Ice at Santa Monica

If you love the ocean, then this ice rink is for you!

Ice in Downtown Santa Monica is a classic and top of the list for many Angelenos.

Many say it’s known “to bring a bit of winter to the comfortable coastal city.”

Get prepared to skate in an 800 square foot rink from the month of November to mid January.

You can even book a private party rental.

Keep in mind prices and dates may vary at Ice at Santa Monica.

The rink is at the corner of Arizona Avenue and 5th Street in Downtown Santa Monica. The E Line is a good way of public transportation if you don’t feel like driving..

#2: Skypark at Santa's Village

Seeking a festive adventure for your holiday weekend?

Head up to Lake Arrowhead for Skypark at Santa’s Village to get you in the holiday spirit.

From Nov. 17 to Jan. 7, come check out all the light displays, cool ice skating rink and yummy snacks that can only be found this time of year..

#3: Skating Under the Stars

Skating Under the Stars is in Orange County.

Right in the Irvine Spectrum Center, you will find one of the coolest Ice Skating rinks.

This is a great place to get some holiday shopping done, grab a bite to eat and have with your family.

Each skating session is about 90 minutes

 #4  L.A. Kings Holiday Ice 

Now while the DTLA area tends to have a couple ice skating rinks like The Holiday Ice Rink- Persian Square there are others you may not be aware of, like the L.A. Kings rink.

If you are a fan of the L.A. Kings, then the L.A. Kings Holiday Ice rink is a dream come true. It’s open from Nov. 24 through Dec. 31.

It’s in the L.A Live area. Not only will you enjoy some ice skating but also the beautiful Christmas and city lights of DTLA.
