Spring is in full effect and more warm temperatures on the way this weekend.

These conditions will encourage many to go hiking.

What You Need To Know

  • SoCal's average high temperatures in April are in the 70s

  • April is one of the best months for hiking

  • This year, we will reach above normal temperatures to finish the month

If you’re looking to spend your weekend outdoors exploring everything SoCal has to offer, just remember to wear your sunscreen and stay hydrated as temperatures will stay above normal.

While there are many cool hiking spots in LA, I will share a few of my favorites and what I’ve encountered in my recent trips.

 #1 Culver City Stairs

If you’re like me and are a fan of hiking and the warm temperatures... you’re in luck this weekend as we are tracking sunny and warm conditions.

One of my favorite places to visit is The Culver City Stairs.

Not only do you get a good workout climbing the stairs, but the LA views are one of a kind.

And a tremendous bonus for me as the flowers are in full bloom (If you suffer from allergies, watch out).

Last week I visited the Culver City Stairs, also known as the Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook, and found so many animals also coming out of their homes.

So Beware of these cute and somewhat scary critters.

In case you were wondering what animals I came across my hike... amongst the first was a rattlesnake!

While at first it just seemed like a dollar bill on the ground, I quickly became aware it wasn’t one when it started to move.

And while I shouldn’t have gotten that close to it since it could have been venomous (I don’t recommend you do the same), here’s a quick video.

Then came the cute bird that decided to stop and enjoy the views and sunshine.

Last, the lizard near the trash.

So just be aware, the sunshine makes everyone want to come out and play.

Overall, it was a good hike with a great workout going up and down the stairs and lots of cool things to see.

#2: Kenneth Hahn Park

Another of my favorite hiking spots is Kenneth Hahn.

This hike is special not just because of the views but the amazing trees and private moments you get to have with nature.

If you want to exercise, I have a little more good news: There is a running area.

#3: Tree People

And to finish it, just recently I visited Tree People in Beverly Hills.

I wasn’t expecting much, but honestly was shocked by how beautiful the hike was.

There are many trails, some easier than others. It just depends on what your choice is.

If you want to take your furry friend, there are cool sections during the hike where your dog can take a break and have some water.

So if you head out this weekend don’t forget the sunglasses, sunscreen and water, especially as temperatures will stay above normal.

High temperatures are looking to peak for our inland cities this weekend before another cooldown and more chances for rain come our way for the start of May.

A few tips... carry a snack with you, head out early and look for shaded areas to beat the heat.

And last but not least protect the kiddos and everyone you love and have a blast!
