A potent storm system walloped Southern California with heavy rain, severe weather and gusty winds late last week. Although the biggest impact from this storm was the significant snow it dumped over the region's higher terrain and mountain areas.
Compared to the past storms that impacted the state earlier this year, the colder temperatures associated with this one brought widespread winter weather, even to places that haven't seen snow in years. Check out this video from actor Josh Gad near Pasadena.
Specifically speaking, the San Bernardino Mountains saw several feet of snow, with some places receiving up to and over four feet! The highest amount observed was in Running Springs, where 66 inches of snow was measured (which is more than the average height of a woman in the U.S.).
