LOS ANGELES — La Sombrita — the bus shelter that’s known for getting more shade than actually providing it — is still in its pilot program stage.

As we enter warmer months, transit riders are speaking out on the project’s functionality and whether they feel they can benefit from it.

LADOT is also responding to the backlash that La Sombrita has received online — clarifying the pilot program’s goals.
