LOS ANGELES — Summer is still a few months away, but it isn’t too early to start thinking about travel getaways. The ultra-budget Frontier Airlines announced Tuesday the return of its popular GoWild! all-you-can-fly summer pass. Available on a limited, first-come, first-served basis for $399, GoWild! summer passes can be used for unlimited domestic and international flights anytime between May 2 and Sept. 30.

“For people with flexible schedules, this is a terrific opportunity to have a truly epic summer and then some,” Frontier Airlines’ Senior Vice President Daniel Shurz said in a statement.

There are, of course, catches. While pass holders will only pay $0.01 per flight in airfare, they still have to pay taxes and fees and shell out even more if they want extras such as checked bags and upgraded seats. Flights are also subject to blackout dates, and travel is not eligible to earn miles or status.

Domestic flight bookings can be booked up to and including the day before travel, while international flights can be booked ten days in advance. Frontier serves more than 100 airports in the U.S., Mexico, Caribbean and Latin America.

In Southern California, the Denver-based airline flies out of Hollywood Burbank, Ontario and John Wayne airports. It does not serve Los Angeles International.
