The 10th annual KCRW "Summer Nights" program gets underway this weekend at One Colorado in Pasadena.

KCRW DJ Jason Bentley dropped by The Beat on 1 this week to preview the series, which kicks off with a live performance by Harriet Brown and DJ Garth Trinidad.

"It's really a way for us as a public radio station to meet and engage with the community and the listenership," said Bentley.

Bentley, who hosts Morning Becomes Eclectic and serves as KCRW's Music Director, also spoke about the station's new campus.

"It's amazing, 30,000 square feet, three floors, 14 studios, including that beautiful performance studio, which we just christened with James Blake live, and many more to come," said Bentley.

The first installment of "Summer Nights," is this Saturday, June 1 and continues the following week on Saturday, June 8, in Chinatown with appearances by KCRW DJs Travis Holcombe and Novena Carmel.
