EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- Supermodel turned supermogul Kathy Ireland spoke to anchor Giselle Fernandez on The Beat on 1 this week about her efforts to promote mental health and reduce the stigma around mental illness.

Ireland, who is known as one of the 19 most influential women in licensing, will be presenting a special award to the NFL Players Association at Didi Hirsch's annual Erasing the Stigma Leadership Awards. 

The annual event takes place the last week in April to bring attention to May, which is Mental Health Awareness Month.
