LOS ANGELES — The kickoff to the 2022 NFL season is just days away, but a movement to promote diversity and inclusion is already underway leaguewide.
The Los Angeles Rams are one of several teams taking part in the NFL’s Bill Walsh Coaching Fellowship and the Diversity in Sports Medicine pipeline, aimed at creating pathways for minority candidates on NFL teams and staffs.
To the Rams, the effort is important — hoping their staff represents the diversity seen in Los Angeles.
“The city of Los Angeles is unbelievably diverse,” said Rams Director of Football Affairs Jacques McClendon. “So, it’s part of our fabric, it’s part of our culture, it’s part of the city. And you know, we’re not just the Rams, right, the Los Angeles part comes first and we have to be of what the culture of our city is.”
