CORONA DEL MAR, Calif. — Corona Del Mar marched into Los Alamitos on Friday night riding a 17-0 game streak.

The Seakings, however, left the field 17-1 — their first league loss in nearly a decade.

Although the Sea Kings notched two turnovers in the first quarter and put together a strong offensive attack led by both quarterback David Rasor and wide receiver Tommy Griffin, the Griffins used a varied passing attack to get the job done. 

Sophomore receiver Makai Lemon caught a touchdown and threw one in the first half to turn the tide in favor of Los Alamitos. From there, the Griffins soared through their first league win.

In a close battle, the Griffins put up a monster third quarter, scoring 35 points to defeat Corona Del Maer 52-28. Los Alamitos' sophomore quarterback Malachi Nelson threw four touchdown passes in the Sunset League matchup with three of them coming in the third quarter.
