LAWNDALE, Calif. — A Dodgers World Series is real love in more ways than one for Rebekah and Jorge Romero. They brought out the champagne after Dodgers ended their 32 year championship drought on Tuesday night.

“It didn’t feel real. It was like I was watching something else. I’m still processing the whole thing. I can’t even believe it’s happening,” said Rebekah.

This championship is the perfect happily after to this couples’ love story. They met at a Dodgers fan brunch in 2018, and would eventually go to a game together.

“If weren’t for the Dodgers we probably would have never met,” Rebekah said.

It was the first of many games together as they travelled all over the country. They saw the Dodgers in Boston, San Diego, Philly, Colorado, and Oakland.

In July of this year, they were married, Jorge even wore a Clayton Kershaw jersey for the ceremony.

“I credit my Dodgers Twitter family. I credit each and every one of you. Because without Dodgers Twitter this would have never happened,” Rebekah said.

Now they live in a Dodgers home. On the wall are pictures of the Romeros with Dodgers players. There are Dodgers place mats, and of course a cabinet filled with bobbleheads.

Because of COVID-19, they had no honeymoon until the Dodgers gave them the gift of a championship.

To the Dodgers Rebekah says, “Thank you. I love you. You’re first, (my husband) is second. He knows that.”

“I’ve accepted that,” Jorge said.

With this title, the Romeros are truly living a Dodgers fairy tale.
