LOS ANGELES, Calif. – For April Hernandez and Moniq Guerra there's no Dodger baseball without a little white face paint and a touch of Dodger blue lipstick.

Upon first glance you can probably tell the two friends are Dodgers fans, but they take the term "die-hards" to new levels by dressing from head to toe in team gear and going by the names "Loca Kitty" and "Blue Lipz."

While this year's Opening Day was admittedly much different for the duo, they wanted it to feel as normal as possible.

“I wish I was there, to be honest," Guerra said. "It’s not the same, but we’re gonna make the best of it. I’m just happy baseball is back.”

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, no fans will be in the stands this season.

Though it's a tough blow to those like Guerra and Hernandez who love seeing their boys in blue live, they're doing their best to make home feel as good as Dodger Stadium.

Watching Opening Day from their living room did come with its share of benefits, from decreased stadium traffic, front row seats to their favorite players, and cheaper food and drink service.

They even got the chance to see themselves at the game thanks to an opportunity from the Dodgers Foundation, fans were able to purchase life-size cutouts of themselves to take in each home game.

It's meant to be special for both fans and players — bringing normalcy to a very unique ballpark environment.

"It just feels great to have baseball back," Hernandez said. "Even though we’re not physically together, it brings us together.”
