Los Angeles artist Shepard Fairey has been creating important prints, graphics, street art, and murals for almost three decades.

His work often addresses controversial social and political issues, which he hopes will start conversations for change.

"Art is also good therapy for the creator, and it's good therapy for the viewer," Fairey said. "It makes me also feel more courageous about pushing back against what I think is wrong in the world."

The SoCal Scene host Melvin Robert recently caught up with the busy artist and talked about some of the issues he's working on today.
