Born and raised in the heart of Los Angeles, Anna Albaryan is thrilled to join the Spectrum News 1 team as a multimedia journalist, where she will report on the stories that impact Southern California.

Anna’s family immigrated to LA from Armenia in the ‘90s to flee the collapsing Soviet regime. As a daughter of immigrants, Anna knows how important it is to amplify the voices of other immigrants. She also has a passion for finding captivating, untold stories hidden in the nooks and crevices of everyday life. Her goal is to inform and inspire her viewers.

Before joining the Spectrum News 1 team, Anna was a producer and writer at KTLA 5, where she earned an Emmy Award for her writing on the station’s 10 p.m. newscast. She has also worked as a freelance reporter for LA Weekly, LA Magazine, attn.com and COAST Magazine.

When she’s not chasing a story, Anna enjoys exploring her neighborhood, listening to live music, and dining at new and exciting restaurants. She also loves to travel (sometimes just to eat different types of food) and cherishes the time she gets to spend with her family and friends. You can find Anna on Twitter and Instagram.
