Daniela Pardo is a Southern California native who is thrilled to be working for the communities in which she grew up. The Golden State has been home to Daniela ever since she was two.

After graduating from Chapman University, Daniela moved to Colorado and Texas before returning to her home state in 2017.

While working at the NBC affiliate in El Paso, Daniela covered Pope Francis’ visit to the U.S.-Mexico border. Before joining the Spectrum News 1 Sacramento bureau as a political correspondent, Daniela worked at the ABC affiliate in Sacramento, covering the devastating Camp Fire, Golden State Killer case, and the Stephon Clark protests.

As a reporter for Inside the Issues, she covers Southern California legislators at the State Capitol. The proud Colombian-American journalist is passionate about telling the stories of California’s diverse communities. She believes ordinary people have the most extraordinary stories.

When she’s not reporting in Sacramento, Daniela loves going on hikes, spending time in Lake Tahoe, and exploring new places to eat. Some of her favorite things to do when she visits her family in Anaheim are eating her mom’s Colombian food, playing with her parents’ dogs, catching up with friends, and enjoying the beautiful SoCal beaches.
