LOS ANGELES — A new study from Claimguide.org ranks Los Angeles County as the least prepared region in the nation for a natural disaster, including a wildfire, a flood or an earthquake.

Engineers in LA say that due to recent city mandates, more buildings have been retrofitted to withstand the impact of a major tremor than ever before.

But the county is still lagging behind its goal, especially when it comes to retrofitting old high rises in downtown LA that are made of concrete.
