LONG BEACH, Calif. — As some Gay Pride festivals get underway, safety is a significant concern.

June is traditionally when Pride Month is celebrated across the U.S. and worldwide.

Over the past two weeks, the State Department, the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security have all released statements urging people participating in Pride to exercise caution.

In a statement, the Department of Homeland Security said, "The FBI and DHS are issuing this Public Service Announcement to provide awareness to the public of foreign terrorist organizations or their supporters potential targeting of LGBTQIA+-related events and venues."
