THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Shelter Hope Pet Shop is a private, nonprofit animal rescue clinic.
Its owner, Kim Sill, added a single question to her adoption form: “How do you feel about gun control?”
Conservative media picked up on this. Ever since, people have been calling and emailing Sill and her employees with death threats.
What erupted is a debate between two constitutional rights. Sill, whose family has been a victim of gun violence, says she is just offering her opinion under the First Amendment.
Some gun owners, however, say she is infringing on their Second Amendment right.
