Former Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., was assaulted in the Jack London Square neighborhood of Oakland, Calif. Monday, according to a tweet from her verified account.
According to Boxer, she was "not seriously injured" after an assailant pushed her in the back and stole her cellphone before jumping into a waiting car.
