HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (CNS) — The FBI Monday searched the apartment of a Huntington Beach man who claimed to have taken part in the attempted violent takeover of the U.S. Capitol, then backed off his claim after receiving death threats.
The raid by an FBI SWAT team on Kristopher Drew Martin's apartment on Viewpoint Lane took place about 10 a.m., FBI public affairs specialist Laura Eimiller told The Orange County Register. It was unclear what evidence was seized from the apartment.
Eimiller did not say if the raid was tied to a nationwide effort to find the people who took part in the riot at the Capitol, The Register reported.
In a video made after the Capitol was stormed, Martin praised those taking part as patriots and pushed aside rumors that Antifa played a role in the Jan. 6 siege.
Martin later told The Register he had received death threats and only watched the violence but did not participate.
