LOS ANGELES — On Thursday, the group Riseup4abortionrights held rallies and protests across the United States.
Students left schools and employees left their office or places of work. Protests were held in California, Hawaii, Kentucky, Boston, New York and Connecticut.
In Los Angeles, participants met downtown for an open mic forum, where people could share their feelings about the possibility of Roe v. Wade being overturned.
Many high school students attended, along with some parents.
After speaking for several hours, the group marched through downtown carrying signs. Most also wore green bandanas, a symbol of abortion advocacy.
