LOS ANGELES — It’s been a while since David Schneiderman has been this excited about going to a Hollywood political event.

“It’s hard to believe I’m actually going to a Biden event tonight,” Schneiderman told Spectrum News 1. “That’s kind of the last thing I thought I’d be doing.”

Like many other Democratic fundraisers, Schneiderman, the co-owner of Seismic Productions, supported a number of presidential candidates throughout 2019, cutting checks to Pete Buttigieg and Amy Klobuchar. But Joe Biden’s campaign never seemed to take off.

“I kinda just passed by Biden in the beginning,” he said. “I thought he had what it takes but then he didn’t sort bring it.”

That all changed on Super Tuesday when Biden stormed back into the Democratic race with a huge win and  Schneiderman bought a $1,000 ticket to a Bel Air fundraiser that very night.

“I was like, that’s Joe, that’s what we need, he just felt re-invigorated and reignited and it created that momentum,” he said. “I guess it’s funny they call it the ‘Joe-mentum.’”

The former vice president went into Super Tuesday with fewer financial resources than other candidates. Not anymore.

Schneiderman is heading to the first of what he believes will be many sold out fundraisers designed to bankroll Hollywood’s newest comeback kid.

“There was a fear of having to put all our eggs in the Bernie [Sanders] basket we just got re-invigorated,” Schneiderman said. “He actually has fire in his belly.”

After hosting nine fundraisers for Hillary Clinton in 2016, Schneiderman thought he’d sit this one out. Now he’s back in the driver seat, helping to chart the course to a Democratic victory in 2020.

“It was a pretty intense ending and I thought I don’t think I can do this again,” he said.
