WESTERVILLE, Ohio – It was the largest single-night presidential debate ever Tuesday night in Westerville, Ohio.
With 12 candidates on stage, many of the lower-polling candidates hoping for a breakout moment took on Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who is largely considered a front-runner after her rise to about second in the primary polls nationally.
There were also a few heated moments between candidates on several issues. When it came to health care, South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg and Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar accused Warren of not being straightforward about whether or not "Medicare for All" would raise taxes on the middle class.
On gun safety, the candidates were divided over whether there should be a mandatory federal buyback of assault weapons, with former Texas Congressman Beto O’Rourke in favor, and Buttigieg and others opposed.

The candidates displayed policy differences on a number of other issues, including [foreign affairs, the opioid crisis, the breakup of big technology and more]. But it remains to be seen if the debate moved the needle for any of the Democrats in the race.
