For more than two years, Erika Feresten has been looking forward to supporting Senator Bernie Sanders' run for the White House, once again.

  • Pacific Palisades Democrat activist is big Bernie Sanders booster
  • She was a delegate for his 2016 campaign
  • Despite many candidates to choose from, she's backing Bernie all the way

“Join the political revolution, I certainly did and still am,” she said.

Feresten is the President of the Pacific Palisades Democratic Club, and although the club isn’t endorsing anyone, she sure is.

“I will spend a lot of time volunteering, but not enough,” she said.

She’s been a Sanders loyalist since she met him at a fundraiser in 2009, then she became a delegate for his 2016 campaign. And now that he has announced his 2020 candidacy, she’s already active and getting the word out about his run.

“I sent a text that said 'Happy Bernie day! Let’s help Bernie reach a goal of one million peeps to donate and tweet today.'”

It’s through people like Feresten that Senator Bernie Sanders was able to raise $6 million in the first 24 hours after he announced his candidacy. The average donation was just $27.

And although this time around there are quite a few democratic candidates with similar platforms to Sanders, Feresten says she is already decided.

“It’s about what he champions, it’s about single payer healthcare, it’s about income inequality, it’s about criminal justice reform,” she said.

Feresten pulls out some old Bernie buttons and lays them on her desk. She hopes to collect many more in the coming months in her efforts to make Senator Sanders the next President of the United States.
