LOS ANGELES — The pandemic proved to be a financially difficult time for children and their parents who attend Magnolia Science Academy - 7 Northridge, according to principal Meagan Wittek.

About 80% of students are enrolled in the federal free or reduced lunch program, she said.

To help families in the community, MSA-7 launched a monthly financial literacy workshop for parents in partnership with the World Financial Group, a life insurance and investment firm.

Students, grades 3 to 5, also take part in weekly after school Financial Literacy Club meetings.
