INGLEWOOD, Calif. — Victoria Preciado and dozens of other parents organized a “love for our schools” protest to fight the closure of Warrne Lane Elementary School, which closed last year.
Preciado said she received a notice from the district saying that Worthington Elementary school
County Administrator Dr. James Morris said funding for schools is based on enrollment and Inglewood Unified School District has gone from 18,000 to less than 8,000 students. A school consolidation committee made up of community members voted unanimously not to close down the school. However, the final decision is in the hands of Morris.
He said a final decision will be made on March 15.
