DALLAS — American Airlines Center on Tuesday reported that music superstar Elton John has tested positive for COVID-19, postponing shows that had been set for Jan. 25 and 26 at the venue.
The venue said John is vaccinated and boosted and so far is only experiencing mild symptoms.
Fans holding tickets were urged to hold on to them because the shows will be made up at later dates and the tickets will be honored.
John, one of the best-selling music artists in history, is in the midst of his “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour after which he plans to retire from the road and spend more time with his family.
There was no immediate word about cancellations beyond the two shows specified. The next stops in the tour include a Jan. 29 gig at Simmons Bank Arena in Little Rock, Ark., and a Jan. 30 show at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, Okla.
