LAX — When you hop off the plane at LAX, you may be feeling hungry from all the traveling. Good news, if you are taking a rideshare or cab to your final destination, you will be welcomed with fresh food in the new LAX-it lot while you wait for your ride.

From the wing of the plane to eating a chicken wing, you can stop by the Wing Society food truck.

“We are trying to elevate the game on chicken wings,” said the truck's chef, Anthony 'Ace' Adejimi.

Adejimi travels around the city serving his wings with LAX as a recently added stop. But Adejimi didn't always devote his time to perfecting his chicken. He was an engineer for Chevron, but he got bored and needed an outlet for his creativity.

He decided to whip up some wings for his friends.

“Wings, because it is my favorite food. I loved them since I could remember,” Adejimi said.

When he realized this could become more, he quit his stable job and embarked on the journey of creating his own business. From catering, to the food truck, to now being on his way to opening a restaurant in El Segundo, Adejimi wants to change the wing experience.

“We want to be the connoisseur of wing sauces,” Adejimi said.

Nothing is frozen and everything is made to order from the fries to the boneless wings.

“Everything is made in house right on this truck,” said Adejimi.

Even the sauces are homemade. He was inspired by his mom’s cooking, translating her staple meals into flavors of wings.

“She used to make jambalaya rice, so we turned that into a Cajun dry rub,” Adejimi explained.

From dry rub to ‘hot lanta,’ the flavors change monthly always offering something new.

“We want to give our customers the freshest menu possible,” said Adejimi.
